Harbor View Hotels
When it comes to the view, you may think seaview or pool-view hotel rooms are good, but the harbor view rooms in Hong Kong top the list. There are numerous hotels in Hong Kong that have them, both on Hong Kong Island and Kowloon Penninsula - such rooms generally cost more. (Above: view of Hong Kong Island from Tsim Sha Tsui promenade, Kowloon.)

Kowloon
Tsim Sha Tsui district
InterContinental Grand Stanford Hotel - located right at the waterfront, it has many unobstructed harbor view rooms.
InterContinental Hong Kong Hotel - located right at the waterfront, it has many unobstructed harbor view rooms (formerly Regent Hotel).
Hotel Nikko - located right at the waterfront, it has many unobstructed harbor view rooms.
Shangri-La - located right at the waterfront, it has many unobstructed harbor view rooms.
Regal Hotel -
Royal Garden - though it is located one street away from the water, since there is an opening between the buildings in front of it, it still has harbor view rooms.
The Penninsula - though it is located one street away from the water, since the buildings in front are low rises, it has many harbor view rooms.
Sheraton - though it is located one street away from the water, since the buildings in front are low rises, it has many harbor view rooms.
Salisbury YMCA - located across the street from The Peninsula, it also has harbor view rooms. It may not be a luxury hotel, but the place is not like the neighborhood gym that you envision!

Harbor Plaza Hong Kong - not as convenient as many other hotels but dignitaries stay there!
Hong Kong Island
Central district
Four Seasons - located in Central district right on the harbor front, it has many rooms with unobstructed view of the harbor. It's also conveniently connected to an exit of the Hong Kong station of the Airport Express Hong Kong station of MTR.
Admiralty district
Conrad Hotel - located up on a hill overlooking the Victoria Harbor, it has many rooms with unobstructed bird's eyeview of it.
JW Marriott Hotel - located up on a hill overlooking the Victoria Harbor, it has many rooms with unobstructed bird's eyeview of it.
Wanchai district
Grand Hyatt - located in the same complex as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, it certainly has many rooms with unobstructed harbor view.

Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong - located on top of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center right at the edge of the water, it definitely has many rooms with unobstructed harbor view.

Causeway Bay district
Excelcior - located across the road from the waterfront, it has the view of the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter and marina.
North Point district
Harbor Plaza North Point - located one short block away from the harbor, it has many rooms with unobstructed harbor view. Although not located in the usual tourist areas, since it is practically just across from the Quarry Bay MTR station exit, it is quite accessible.

Hotel Ibis - located across the highway from the waterfront, it has many unobstructed harbor view rooms. But expect quite small rooms because it is a budget hotel.
