Causeway Bay Marina
(typhoon shelter)

Above: luxury yachts in Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter.

Located in the middle of the city with Central district skyscrapers as the backdrop, the Causeway Bay Marina and Tyhoon Shelter is a nice scene often over-looked by the locals. But then the highway running next to it does not lend to its ambiance. more photos...

There are some restaurants across the highway where you can get a window table to watch the boats go by - and the cars on the highway. At the time of writing, there is even a McD! (2006.7.22)

At the edge of the water is the site of the "noon-day gun" firing ceremony, a relic from the colonial days. Anyone can just stand around to watch the firing of a cannon there at noon.

The area is within walking distance from the Causeway Bay MTR station after walking through a corner of the Victoria Park.
