Getting to Victoria Peak

Above: view from the Peak Tram going up to the Victoria Peak.

sYou should take the Peak Tram up to the Victoria Peak. It is an interesting ride straight up the mountain, literally! But go on a clear day or else you will just see fog, smog, and mist! And try to ride on the right side of the tram: you will get a better view!

There is a bus that can take you to the Peak Tram terminus from a spot in front of the Star Ferry pier in Central on Hong Kong Island. It usually is an open top on the upper deck - your kids will love it! Just don't let them go wild and fall out of the bus!

Directions from the Star Ferry Pier on Hong Kong Island:

1.
Once you get off the ferry and out of the pier to the road, walk to your right along the road.
2. The bus number is 15C. Check this page out also: Open-Top Bus to Peak Tram Station.

At the Peak Tram station, you can get a one-way or round-trip ticket (I think the return journey of a round trip ticket is only good for the same day). There usually is a line for the Peak Tram, but it moves fairly fast. Once you are on the Peak Tram, ride it all the way to the end.

If you don't want the excitment of riding a cable tram, there are buses that go up to the peak, but they take longer and are not as interesting a ride.
