Nathan Road
Kowloon, Hong Kong

Above: Nathan Road in Jordan

Hong Kong is known worldwide for its colorful neon signs. Nathan Road has a high concentration of them. It is a main thoroughfare that runs through the southern districts of the Kowloon Peninsula, namely Tsim Sha Tsui, Jordan, Yau Ma Tei, and Mongkok. If not for the crowds and the shops that capture you - or your spouse, it only takes an hour or two to walk the whole stretch from the southern tip in Tsim Sha Tsui to Prince Edward.

There are shops lining both sides of the road and also in the side streets.

When it comes to neon signs and billboards, you can find them on and around Yee Wo Street in Causeway Bay as well. They can also be seen in many other areas as well, just not in such concentration. (2008.11.4)
