Shangri-La Hotel

Above: the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui district.

This Shangri-La is located in the eastern part of Tsim Sha Tsui (a well-known tourist area). It is quite accessible to the rest of that district and yet slightly away from it so that you don't feel overwhelmed by the crowds. The availability of harbor view rooms is an added bonus - especially with a view of the Central district on Hong Kong Island.

Since it is in Tsim Sha Tsui East, it is a short walk to the promenade, where you can see the beautiful skyline of the Hong Kong Island up close.

The downside is that it is a fair walk from the MTR (subway), but there is an air-conditioned tunnel system with an exit across the street from the hotel. If you want to be close to the TST East train station (with trains that take you across the border to mainland China), close to the harbor, close to places to shop, and close to the MTR, this is one of the best choices. (Right: the entrance to the KCR station and the pedestrian subway network.)
